They’re more intimate, usually only including close family and friends. Often times they’re easy to plan because destination wedding venues offer a large variety of all-inclusive wedding packages. You also have the benefit of getting married in a great location for a honeymoon.
I have photographed destination weddings before and I hope to do more in the future, as I love to travel and they are always beautiful! If you’re thinking of have a wedding outside of your area, here are some great options, both within the US and outside the US. Each of these locations offer breath-taking scenery with affordable travel and planning options.
If you’re dreaming of a beach wedding, Destin is a great option. I went to Destin for a family trip and loved it! The sand is so soft, and the water is warm. It’s easy for family and friends to travel stateside and Destin isn’t as touristy as other beach cities in Florida. This means it more affordable and it has a quiet and quaint feel. Between the atmosphere of the town and the beauty of their soft white sandy beaches, this is a great location for a wedding. There are many beautiful hotels, resorts, and beaches that offer wedding packages to choose from.

Belize is full of diverse scenery! From their beautiful beaches and reefs, to the Mayan ruins and luscious rainforests, Belize truly has it all. Although it’s international, flights to Belize are around the same rate as a quick flight to Mexico. They offer many resort amenities, as well as, many local bungalows and beach houses to rent. Whether you’re wanting a relaxing beach wedding or an adventurously tropical one, you can make it happen in Belize.
The Dominican Republic has always been a popular destination wedding location and rightfully so. It’s affordable, easy to get to from the US because of direct flights and there are numerous resorts that offer all-inclusive hotel and wedding packages. There are options for every budget. Not only are you close to a number of beautiful beaches which make a perfect backdrop for your ceremony, but you also have the amenities of resort hotels to make your special day as relaxed or as luxurious as you and your guests desire. You don’t have to worry about food or activities while you’re there because with the right resort, it will all be taken care of. I’ll be going there this summer to check it out!
