Although I am a wedding photographer I also enjoy photographing families. It’s amazing how fast children grow up and change. As a parent myself, I know the importance of capturing those moments. My goal is to capture those expressions you don’t get to see often. Whether it is their pouting face or their cute smile, every expression is special. That is why I make it a goal to take pictures with my daughter every year on her birthday. Children are unpredictable and not everyday is going to be a great day, so during the session I like to embrace how they are feeling and make the best out of it. 

Today I wanted to share with you the Gutierrez’s family session that took place at Robert E. Lee Park. Julie Gutierrez is a single mom and a business owner.  Julie is the owner of Core Change Management Consulting, Inc., located in Uptown Dallas, where she provides project and construction management. She has two adorable boys who attend school with my daughter. Marco, her youngest son, is in my daughter’s class. It is so fun to see them interact and to watch them learn. 

I love the attire she chose for the shoot. It is very important that you all use the same color tones to coordinate in some way. In this case she chose cool color tones, which go really well during an outdoor summer shoot. Her wardrobe gave the overall photo shoot a refreshing feel.
