The Brik, not to be confused with brick, is a special events venue located in the south side of Fort Worth, Texas. From the first day I went to visit I fell in love. As a photographer, this venue is perfect for your wedding day, bridal shower, birthday, gala, or corporate event. It has two full floors that each seat 300+ people, two outdoor patios spaces, a catering kitchen, two private suites, and ample restrooms to help you prepare for your big day.
The venue on the corner of S. Calhoun and E. Tucker St. It is made out of brick and has a very rustic, vintage finished look, which makes it a super unique looking building. It has plenty of parking space which is nice because your event can be private without anyone disturbing you and your guest. The entrance on the main floor is designed with beautiful glass doors which your guest will love as they enter the venue. The Brik is also handicap accessible for those not able to use the stairs. It also helps alot when you are trying to haul thing in.
In the main floor you will find the catering kitchen, a custom bar, the groom’s suite, and restrooms. The building has its original wood floors, pier and beam ceilings, brick walls, and gorgeous chandeliers. This floor is the perfect location for all your dinner and reception needs. It has plenty of room for a dance floor and be able to sit 300 guest.
This is the Stag Suite, used primarily for the groom and his groomsmen. It has a masculine feel to it with a large leather couch, a flat screen TV to watch the big game, and a side bar. This room may also be used as a coat check or a VIP Lounge area.
The interior design in this room is amazing; the tables are my favorite! You would hardly need any decorating to be done with these gorgeous wooden bench tables. Take a look for yourself.
I love the rustic, wooden backdrop on this cute little bar area. It gives this room a nice, modern, edgy feel. I love the way So Chic Events and Bling Your Theme Social Events decorated this room. All in all, this room gives you plenty of options for your own creativity.
The second floor is beautifully lit all by natural light. The open layout of this floor is perfect for your wedding ceremony, a private event, silent auction, or a nice dinner/dance. You may access this floor by using the back stairwell, the outdoor staircase and balcony, or the elevator. The second floor also contains my favorite part of the entire venue, the Lux Suite- the perfect bridal suite or VIP lounge. It is a gorgeous large suite with plenty of space to sit, get ready, and shower if needed. There is a private restroom with a bathtub you can use, and a separate unisex restroom for your guest to use. The second floor seats up to 300 guests and is perfect for your ceremony or formal dinner.
I have saved my favorite room in the entire venue for last. The Lux Suite is a bride’s dream come true; just look at this beauty. The Lux Suite is the most perfect, spacious, and colorful bridal suite I have ever seen. It literally makes you feel like a queen. This suite makes up about half of the upstairs floorplam. It includes a beauty bar, two seating areas, a dinning set, a bar, and a stunning hot pink/ gold private restroom. It is so classy, luxurious, and elegant. This is the perfect room for a bride’s special day!
You may access the courtyard off both floors or by walking around the building. The ground is covered with crushed granite which gives it a very clean and inviting feel for your guests. Because there is no fence surrounding the courtyard, the venue has added 3 green walls in order to create some privacy. Two large wooden barn walls complete the backdrop to this outside entertaining area. This is an ideal location if you are looking to host an outdoor ceremony, a cocktail hour, or simply provide an outdoor lounge area for your guest to unwind. The fire pit and some outdoor furniture make this the perfect are to take a break from the party atmosphere inside. The courtyard also has a complete sound system and outdoor lighting for your event. The most gorgeous part of the courtyard is the Juliette balcony where you can see a stunning view of downtown Fort Worth. The courtyard can accommodate up to 300 guests standing.
I loved the little secretive bonus area located at the back of the building as well. The back porch has its own special character to it, including some graffiti work, done by Jeremy Joel, on the far end walls. The back porch is perfect for private dinners, rehearsal dinners, lounge setups, or small socials. It’s a concrete slab, canopied by old industrial ironwork with nice lights
As a wedding photographer, the Brik is one of my favorite places to photograph. I absolutely love this newly renovated wedding venue and I’m sure you will too. I would like to thank all the wedding venues who helped decorate the Brix for this blog post, and if you are interested in booking your wedding at the Brik, I would love to help you photograph your perfect day.
